Grace, our dedicated front desk support, keeps things running smoothly. She's a double major in nursing and social work, skilled in math, and helps with bookkeeping and social media. Grace loves her dog Simba, practices CrossFit, enjoys fashion, and loves exploring new culinary delights.
AJ moved to Harrisonburg in 2015 and opened AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop in 2019. Since then, the shop has become known for its commitment to family, community, and top-quality service, winning Best in the Valley five years in a row (2021–2025). Married and a proud dad, AJ continues to lead the shop with those same values. If AJ is booked, he recommends scheduling with any of our Master Barbers, who follow the same standards of cutting hair while embracing our mission statement and living out the culture that makes AJ’s unique. In addition to English, AJ also speaks Arabic, allowing him to connect with even more members of the community.
Howie joined AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop bringing years of expertise and experience to the team. He is fluent in English and Kurdish, and is known for his strong customer service skills, connecting easily with clients and making them feel comfortable in the chair. Believing deeply in AJ’s culture and vision, Howie represents the values that set our shop apart. Married and living in the Harrisonburg area, he’s a great teammate and a genuine guy who has become an important part of our success every day. Outside the barbershop, Howie enjoys spending time at the gym and traveling to new places.
Moe is a skilled barber who brings precision, professionalism, and positive energy to AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop. Fluent in English and Kurdish, he connects easily with clients and delivers sharp haircuts and beard work that reflect his dedication to the craft. Moe believes deeply in AJ’s culture and enjoys being part of a team that feels like family, both inside the shop and outside — whether it’s a trip to the lake or a team outing. Outside of barbering, he’s passionate about fitness, enjoys going to the gym, and follows both UFC and soccer. More than just a talented barber, Moe is a genuinely good guy and a great teammate who continues to play a big role in the growth and success of AJ’s.
Dwayne is a talented young barber who brings skill, energy, and a great personality to AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop. Known for his humor and positive attitude, he keeps the shop lively while delivering precise cuts and sharp styles. Dwayne is highly motivated and deeply believes in AJ’s culture and mission statement, making him a perfect fit for the team. Outside the barbershop, he enjoys soccer and video games, always bringing the same passion and focus to his hobbies as he does to his craft. With his strong skillset and awesome personality, Dwayne continues to grow as a barber and play an important role in AJ’s success.
Dana has been with AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop since 2024 and has quickly built a strong and loyal clientele. With four years of experience, he is known for his professionalism, precision, and dedication to the craft. Married and living in the Harrisonburg area with his family, Dana is not only a skilled barber but also a genuine, personable guy with a great personality. He’s also known for his signature “Yeeesssir,” a phrase that’s become part of his fun and welcoming presence in the shop. Fluent in English and Kurdish, with some Spanish, Dana connects effortlessly with clients from diverse backgrounds. A vital part of our team, he fully believes in our vision and contributes to our success every day.
Alex has been part of AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop since 2022, starting while still in high school. Over the years, he has grown and developed into not only a skilled barber but also a dedicated young man who is now married and working with us full time. Alex is precise in his craft, delivering sharp haircuts and clean beard lines on all styles—long or short. He connects with his customers on a personal level, building lasting relationships while making every client feel comfortable and valued. Outside the shop, Alex has a passion for fast cars and is actively involved in his church community. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he brings great energy to the AJ’s team and serves clients from all backgrounds.
Omar joined AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop in 2022, bringing five years of experience in exceptional haircuts, fades, and beard grooming. Originally from Puerto Rico, he now lives in Grottoes, Virginia, with his wife and two children. Fluent in Spanish and continuing to improve his English, Omar has built a strong and loyal clientele at AJ’s while becoming a valued teammate who fully believes in our culture and vision. Dedicated both to his craft and his family, Omar is a vital part of our success and the welcoming experience we’re known for.
Originally from Florida, Luis has been cutting hair for over five years and has grown tremendously with AJ’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop. His skill, leadership, and dedication led to a well-earned promotion, and he now serves as our Location Manager. Fluent in English and Spanish, Luis is known for building strong relationships with clients while also mentoring and supporting our team, ensuring everyone grows together while keeping our culture and vision alive every day. He graduated from Bridgewater College in May 2025 with a degree in Business Administration, bringing fresh knowledge and a modern mindset to the company. Together with AJ, Luis’s goal is to grow the business, mentor the team, and expand the shop to multiple locations. Outside the barbershop, he enjoys going to the gym, hiking and traveling with his girlfriend, and watching soccer — a sport he formerly played at Bridgewater.
